The shrine is located at the mountain also named Inari, which is 233 metres above sea level. It includes trails up the mountain to many smaller shrines. The enitre walk to the top is 4-kilometers and takes Fushimi Inari Taisha. The Fushimi Inari Tiasha is famous for its thousands of bright orange torii gates. The torii gates along the entire trail are donations from different companies and individuals. Fushimi Inari is the most important shrine dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. We went to Fushimi Inari on a rainy afternoon. The donation ranges between ¥400,000 to ¥1,000,000 depending on the size of the torii.
